Final Project
You know you want some Body!!
Business Mission Statement
“By correctly stating the business mission in terms of the benefits that customers seek, the foundation for the marketing plan is set.” (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg. 18.)
Objectives
Our objective is simple. We want the world to feel wonderful in any drinking situation. No matter whom you are, what you do, or where you live, it’s ok to be a little sassy. We as a cooperation intend on reaching a 90% customer satisfaction rate in 2010 and get at least 75% of those purchases to be repeat customers for 2011. “Before the details of a marketing plan can be developed, objectives for the plan must be stated.” It doesn't stop there. We want to partner with today’s leading brands of vodka and spirits and introduce our new concept of infusing this all natural aphrodisiac into their specialty items. We know that with a new idea, sometimes it takes a little more than word of mouth for that product to catch on. So when introducing Body to the world, we want to give back by taking 15% of all revenue and donate it to the SOS Children's Village foundation. This is reaching out to more than 78,000 kids in over 124 countries. Giving them homes to live in, providing vaccination from illnesses, and parents that will take them under their care and save them from the misfortunes of life in a third world country. (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg. 18.)
Situation or SWOT Analysis
"Before specific marketing activities can be defined, marketers must understand the current and potential environment that the product or service will be marketed in." (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.19.)
Strengths
It’s available in stores, clubs, online and can even be delivered right at your door. “When examining internal strengths the marketing manager should focus on organizational resources such as production costs, marketing skills, financial resources, company or brand image, employee capabilities, and available technology.” Looking at all these things, we came to the conclusion that, in a society where adults both young and old are always looking for that new adventure and many are taking new risks. All over the world, people of all ages, gender, ethnicity, and social status want extraordinary pleasure in any sense and they want it now. You can buy our product on-line for a 12% discount. You can also drive to your local liquor store and find it on the top shelf right next to the top brands, like Absolute and Greygoose. For those of you who are against child labor, fear not for this product is made and paid for by your fellow citizens. (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.19.)
Weaknesses
“Another issue to consider in this marketing plan is the historical background of the firm, its sales and profit history.” Because this is a brand new product and it is so different than any other brand of Vodka in the market, a few aspects that contribute to turning against us is the fact that it’s a new product. Secondly, will people want Vodka that makes them all hot and bothered? Not everyone drinks vodka and not all people drink period. There are many great tasting and selling vodka's out there. The link below will tell you that Absolute is the best seller of 2009. So in order to compete with a brand that has been around for over 130 years and to have a higher price tag then Absolute, and to only have one flavor to start off. It is needless to say we have a lot of work to do. (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.19)
Opportunities
Like many companies, we too are trying to find new opportunities and path ways in order to have our product in your hands but more so in your body. "McDonald's marketers are even taking advantage of gas price increases by running commercials in which teenagers decide not to fill their empty gas tank and buy $1 double cheeseburgers to fill their stomachs instead." So instead of spending $70.00 plus dollars on a pill, why not spend half as much on a bottle of our eccentric vodka that will make you feel good in all aspects of human behavior. (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.19.)
Threats
"Environmental scanning helps identify market opportunities and threats and provides guidelines for the design of marketing strategy." Through our scanning and extensive research, we have found out that new products don't always make it. Some are cash cows, some become dogs and others, like the iPod become stars. One of the biggest threat's we face is coming up with a product that is new to the world. With Body being infused with an aphrodisiac, the question stands firm. Will everyone like the idea, or does everyone need an added substance to their drink that makes them all hot and bothered? (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.19.)
Product
Don't be afraid if you don't look your best. No need to be scared to talk to that beautiful, sexy body that you have been eyeing all night. With our product you get to experience more then you could ever ask for out of one single thing. "A product may be a tangible good like a pair of shoes, a service like a haircut, an idea like "Don't litter" or a combination of these three." With our particular product we have implemented all three of these things into one. You ask yourself how? The answer is Body! You get the feeling of intimacy, the idea that you’re never too old for some late night fun and the genuine knowledge that we do care about you and we know that you have needs as a human, and there is someone special out there for you. We import our ingredients from Malaysia, and the rice that our vodka is distilled with is grown in Russia. It comes in one size a 750ml bottle. Its 80 proof 80% Alc. Lvl. (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.131.)
Promotion
Body is a new brand of vodka that we value. In the same way we value our new brand, we value our new customers. With your first three purchases of Body we will throw in a complimentary body shot glass with our logo. You have two choices, one for the ladies and one for the men because we understand that "Few goods or services, no matter how well developed, priced, or distributed, can't survive in the market place without effective promotion." so on top of receiving your free shot glass, we have placed a little protection device on the bottom of the glass that if needed should be used once you feel the need to indulge yourself in some erotic pleasure. All the local clubs and restaurants will offer Body at $5.00 off for the first week it is out in production. Just like P. Diddy inspired America to drink Ciroc, we have Usher who will be advertising Body in his next music video. Las Vegas 95.7 F.M Dj Franzen will be promoting Body all over the radio. Platinum Producer Mally Mall will be advertising Body vodka to all the superstar artists he works with. Also when you buy T Finguz' new album Zaij Pie, you will receive 5 dollars off of your next purchase of Body. Along with Face book, MySpace, Twitter, and YouTube ads, Body will also be advertised on the cover of all the Weekly magazines in all the major cities across the world. Wristbands, Hats, T-Shirts, cell phone cases, designer hand bags for the ladies, and fancy watches for men will all be in production while promoting this new brand of vodka with our label on it. (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.211.)
Price
You can buy Body for $33.99 but if purchased online you save 12% and get it for only $29.99. That’s an extra $4.00 that you can use on your favorite brand of protection. "Price means one thing to the consumer and something else to the seller. To the consumer, it is the cost of something. To the seller, price is revenue, the primary source of profits." (MKTG Lamb Hair Mcdaniel, Pg.261.)
Distribution
To make it easier for all of you out there who can’t wait to get their hands on our vodka, we have posted Body in all of the internet vodka purchasing sites. "Several emerging trends are changing the job of today's supply chain manager. Technology and automation are brining up-to-date distribution information to the decision maker's desk. Technology is also linking suppliers, buyers, and carriers for joint decision making, and it has created a new electronic distribution channel. Many companies are saving money and time by outsourcing to third-party carriers to handle some or all aspects of the distribution process." So allowing you to buy your favorite vodka anywhere and everywhere all over the world, we are able to give you access to the best vodka on the planet. Some people don't all ways want to drive to the liquor store and some people can’t. Do what you want, call in and order Body, text us, email us buy it on-line or just come on into your local liquor store. Body is manufactured in the United States and so many people are getting their hands on it, we restock your local liquor store weekly insuring NO shortage. Week Two Bad Experience
A day at the DMV is probably the worst experience I've had. Arriving to the DMV about ten o'clock seemed reasonable to me. Little did I know that the building was filled with hundreds of people at the same time? I had never had a tremendously bad experience up until that point. When I had arrived the first thing that was of an inconvenience to me was the fact that there was absolutely no parking. I circled the parking lot in hopes that someone would be pulling out as I was pulling in. After circling the parking lot a second time I was fortunate enough to find an open spot. Quickly I fled to it and parked the car. As I was walking to the front door I noticed a rush of people coming in at the same time as I was, almost as if they were purposely waiting for me to show up so that we could all go inside at the same time. I didn't take but two steps inside before I found myself at the back of an enormous line. The sound of babies crying, people talking on their cell phones, some yelling at their kids telling them they need to relax a little. Most of the people that were their all had one thing in common. We were all waiting for a ticket, which you could only get at the information desk. Being used to getting a ticket out of a ticket dispenser and taking a seat then waiting for my number to be called, I was in for a "treat." After about two hours of waiting in line as if we were waiting for the ride at the amusement park I finally got the information desk. I had gotten my ticket and got some help on what to do next. Little did I know I had to wait for another hour until I would be able to get what I needed and be done with it? That is the last time I will go to that DMV for anything. The lines were long and the building was packed shoulder to shoulder. Not a Good Experience!
Week Two Good Experience
One day I went to down town Las Vegas and had an amazing experience! Dinner, at "Diego", a restaurant at the MGM made my night. Moving to Vegas, getting a job, and acting in a few movies meant it was time to celebrate. Diego is an authentic Mexican restaurant where the food splendid and the service superb. Granted we waited a little longer then desirable, but once Travis and I were seated it was service that only a king has pleasure of experiencing. Immediately a waiter by the name of Leo attended us. He asked what we preferred to drink, "Water to start, or maybe a Margarita or shot of Tequila?" He stated, with the most appealing smile on his face. Due to all the good things that have been happening in the past few months we had to celebrate big time. "A Pitcher of Margarita "stated Travis. "Right away", Leo replied. Not more than one minute went by when a lady came by and made a bowl of fresh guacamole dip right at our table. So far the night is going great. Leo came back with a big pitcher of margarita and then took our order. This was not just the normal order taking though. Not only did he point out the specials like any other restaurant, but on top of telling us the top sellers he described with a mouth watering descriptions of the most traditionally authentic entries. "Pork marinated in our special homemade marinara sauce for twelve hours. Then wrapped in banana leaves and surrounded by bell peppers, slow cooked in a fire oven for eight hours and served with a side of habanera sauce!" I can only imagine what I was getting prepared to eat! Not only was the dish presented exquisitely but the pork was a tender as a dinner role. A feeling of euphoria overwhelmed me as I took my first bite. Pork filled with the flavor of peppers, and habanera sauce that set my hair on fire! Leo didn't only give us the service that is granted to kings but he insisted on an outstanding meal. Followed by vanilla ice cream with a decorative display, he came back and handed each of us a complimentary shot of "Twenty year old aged Tequila" he told us, not in a typical shot glass though, but it looked like a miniature Champaign glass. The night was complete with our bellies full of incredible food, and hearts warmed with divine service.
